Tasik Kenyir Malaysia

If nothing interest you above, then laze around the chalets and gaze at the distant speeding boats. Listen to the breeze and hear the ripple of the waves. At least you are away from your monotomous and hectic chores for a while.

About Tasik Kenyir

Tasik Kenyir covers an area of 369 square kilometres. It was constructed between 1978 and 1985. The dam is reputed to be the largest of its kind in South East Asia. There are 340 islands in Kenyir Dam with the biggest about the size of Penang island. There are 30 rivers feeding the lake, 25 waterfalls and at least 25 known species of fish. Information displayed on the history and developments of the dam can be found at the visitors' centre.

How To Get There

From Penang, head for the town of Grik in Perak and continue along the East-West highway to Pasir Putih in Kelantan and proceed south passing through Jertih until a junction with a big signboard of Tasik Kenyir. Follow the sign board to reach Kuala Berang. There are a few operators running their resorts from here. For Hundred Island Resort, contact Mr. Yan at 609 - 681 1348 or the Malaysian Nature Society, Penang Branch who organised the trip.
